Holy Week 2020 Update

Español abajo
Wednesday, April 8, 2020

Dear Parishioners,

As we prepare to begin our solemn celebration of the Passion, Death, and Resurrection of Our Lord, I wanted, once again, to encourage you to follow our celebrations online. Though we may not be together physically, I do hope you will be present virtually. And know that I will carry each of you in my heart as I celebrate the liturgies.

I had hoped to be able to stream the Palm Sunday Mass live, but our internet connection was insufficient. That has since been corrected. Also, the sound quality was not what I had hoped for. That, too, has been corrected to the best of our ability. Now, the audio should be crystal clear as you’ll hear HERE. And so, as a humble parish with limited resources, I believe we are prepared to have a beautiful celebration. Please join us.

How to Participate

PLEASE NOTE THE CHANGE OF STREAMING LOCATION: All services will be streamed LIVE to the new parish YouTube Channel. Click HERE to be redirected to that page. You do not need to have a YouTube/Google account in order to watch, but you do need one if you’d like to subscribe to the channel (highly suggested). We are streaming to YouTube because the quality should be better.

Please download a copy of the worship aid for each liturgy before it begins. The worship aid will be posted to the Parish Facebook Page and the Parish Website at least one day before the liturgy. A link to it will also be included in the notes under the live feed on YouTube. Then, follow and sing along!

A Spiritual Documentary in preparation for the Triduum

This afternoon, I received an email from Augustine Press who produces some great Catholic material. They own Formed.org, a multimedia website to which we have a subscription. They are streaming a documentary entitled “Triduum” from now through Sunday. You do not need an account to watch it. In 30 minutes, they take you to all of the historical sites of this most important week in human history. I recommend it. You can link to it HERE.

Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick

If you have a loved one who is gravely ill and at home, please call me. I will come and anoint them. If they are in the hospital it is always better to ask the nursing staff to call the priest on duty. If, for some reason, that doesn’t work, by all means, call me.

Finally, I want to sincerely thank those of you who have been able to continue supporting the parish financially by dropping your envelopes in the mail slot at the Parish Office or mailing them to us. I fully understand that some are suffering the economic fallout of this situation more than others. If you are in a position to help out, might I suggest enrolling in the online giving program? It is a much easier, and even sanitary, way of contributing to the parish.

Finally, allow me to wish each end every one of you a most glorious and happy Easter!

God Bless,
Fr. Philip

Queridos Feligreses,

P. Philip
